History

The term “plumber” goes back to the popular Roman Empire as Roman roofs made use of lead in drain pipes including conduits. And, plumbum is the Latin word for lead. Thus, anyone proficient in using lead to work was initially known as a Plumbarius. This was later abbreviated to plumber.          

Entry Requirements for London Plumbers

To qualify as a professional plumber in London and indeed the whole of UK, you are expected to pass the Level 2 plus Level 3 vocational requirements of the City and Guilds of London Institute.    

The Work and Hours Involved

Work involves among others installing plus repairing drainage, water supplies and heating system. On every job you will make use of hand tools as well as power tools that may involve welding equipment.
